Shankar foundation's Shraddha Center for special Education is a day care school for children with variety of special needs.The children are devided into different levels to meet the changing needs and intellectual abilities as they grow up. Careful design and planning for each child ensure the progression of learning. While taking care of their therapy needs in the areas of physio,occupational,speech we also work on their educational needs to make them more confident and productive citizens of the society.
Curriculum:
The academic curriculum made by Founder Principal Mrs. Sridevi is broad, balanced, differentiated and relevant to meet individual learning needs, abilities, and aptitudes. It helps children to achieve higher grades and appear for recognized board examinations. Most of them are benefited through this grade level curriculum and came out with excellence of National Institute of Open School’s Secondary School certification. This wide range of educational programming is sequential, designed to enhance and maximize every child’s potential. In addition to age-appropriate class assignments, small group and individualized instruction addresses each child’s needs and abilities. Our curriculum presents traditional scholastic subjects, which stimulates young minds and nurtures healthy emotional development.
Communication, literacy and language: The aspects of this subject which is spread over by Level -A to Level-J are to teach language for communication, language for thinking, reading, writing,creativity and social skills.
Knowledge and understanding the world: The lessons in this series incorporates a sense of surroundings and enable them to express themselves through asking questions, noticing the world in detail.
Poblem solving, reasoning and numeracy : The functional math based activity series of time,money and measurement will help to maintain interest, develop learning, extend opportunities and develop mathematical skills.
Creative arts: This practicle subject areas i.e arts and design, dance and music supports to develop whole child. These enhances the many areas of the curriculum with unique way of communication.
Personel and physical development skills:This is a practicle subject that enables all children to partcipate in enjoyable,exciting and challenging activities. These, in turn,gerarate social and intellectual skills and encourages positive thinking and tolerance.
